earthquake jolted us awake at 3:20 this morning but we're fine....just a lil on edge wondering if/when there might be aftershocks.

Dinner will be some sort of shake and bake chicken, rock my world potatoes, summer squash medley with corn and red bell peppers -- all tossed together, chocolate earthquake cake, and plenty of wine smileys/wink.gif

Woke me too and then I couldn't get back to sleep. Haven't heard from friends in Amer Canyon yet.

My FIL lives on his boat near the epicenter - I'm sure it knocked him right out of bed.

*A moment of silence for all the wine lost*

Especially for Silver Oak, one of my favorites. Very sad.

Lots of photos of severe wine loss/damage at several wineries in the area.

That earthquake woke me up and I could not sleep afterward, my screen room divider

And china hutch were moving so much I was worried. My building moves a lot anyway, I'm always playing Truck or Earthquake? and last night it was most definitely OMG Earthquake!!!

Yesterday, before the excitement I has leftover BBQ ribs with mustardy sauce from Sneaky's, and I cooked an osso bucco for Sunday lunch. It came out so well!!! It wasn't done until 10:30 and then it needed to cool before the fridge.

Today, our "framily" lunch was the osso bucco over cheesy polenta, the gremolata and an avocado and tomato salad, plus consommé cups of Safeway's tomato bisque, which was really good. Another divorced friend joined us, her first weekend without her kids due to a new shared custody schedule. It's perfect that she joined us as this is the point of our framily Sunday meal, offsetting the loneliness and increasing our sense of community.

There was a divine moment where we all stopped eating and said this is one of those supremely happy moments that we want to freeze forever.

My friend made Thai iced tea from scratch! Delicious. But the boba would just not soften, we were wondering how old they were to refuse to cook!!

The adrenalin from the earthquake gave me a migraine but I managed to make lunch and enjoy a little wine. Right now I'm lounging in an easy chair in the sun while my friends play Monopoly in Japanese!

Next weekend is tacos.

(((Heather))). Here's hoping for a much calmer night's sleep for all, than last night and that

Mother Nature has settled down now.
