One of my favorite things about Missouri...fireflies!!!

oh, you can keep the crickets! have one get under your fridge. gahhhhh. and in OK, there would be

years where the sidewalks were covered in them, kinda like the locust plague.

We live on a small lake and the frog croaking is MAGNIFICENT this time of year

super loud but it lulls us to sleep. However, we've had two sets of house guests who thought it so loud that 1) one couple closed the window and turned on the air and 2) the other couple headed to a basement bedroom where they couldn't hear it.

LOL!

Under the fridge, up in the attic, inside the smoke detector, those things are LOUD when they're

close up!

HA, that reminds me of our summer visitors and all the daylight---I have to provide eyemasks or put

foil over the windows to provide some darkness for them to sleep. I confess to having this problem as well, hence the room darkening shades in our bedroom.

My brother's family was visiting and then my sister's family decided to come too.

I put Paul up at my house and put Karen's family up at an ocean front hotel. All three of her small kids had trouble going to sleep with the noise of the ocean waves breaking right outside their window.

Somehow, I thought this would be relaxing.

oh how I love the sound of the ocean! luckily, my DH's CPAP machine sounds like waves to me smileys/smile.gif

Take my crickets too!

I go into full fledged hysteria every time one of those attacks me. Which they do. They stalk me, and then they jump on me. Sometimes they get organized and attack from several sides.

I DESPISE those creatures.

only Brazilian cockroaches affect me more, and they are one of the reasons I left the country
