amazing! I seriously was dreaming about eating more of it this morning! AND, I am not a sweet person. It just has such a nice texture / flavor. I am excited to make this during the holidays! Enjoy!

Toffee Recipe - from BK

2 sticks of butter

1 cup of white sugar

2 Tbsp cold water

1 Tbsp white corn syrup

2 cups chopped almonds (toasted before chopping if you prefer)

2 Large Hershey Chocolate Bars (11-12 oz bars)

Prepare large baking sheet (with sides) by spraying with cooking spray.

In heavy saucepan, over medium high heat melt butter, sugar, syrup and water until it reaches 290-300 on a candy thermometer. (Note: Use a candy thermometer to ensure correct temp. Saucepan size is better if the liquid can come up the side 2 inches)

Stir periodically to ensure even heating and it won't burn or get too dark

Take away from heat and mix in 3/4 cup of the almonds. quickly pour out onto the baking sheet, spreading with the spoon to get it to about 1/4 inch thick.. Cool completely

Melt chocolate bar in double boiler, then spread on one side of the toffee. Immediately sprinkle chopped nuts. Note: heat chocolate slowly just until ready to spread. Don't let water boil in the double boiler.

When cool, turn over and repeat chocolate and nuts on opposite side.

Break into small pieces to eat

Note: you can speed up the chocolate cooling step by putting the pan in the refrigerator or freezer for a few minutes.

The recipe I posted awhile back is pretty much the same. We give a bunch...

...of this away at the holidays. It is wonderful, and it looks very pretty in a gift bag or in a small tin with gold foil.

All the rules of candy making apply, by the way. Don't let any stray sugar crystals get into the bubbling melted sugar mixture, or it will seize. I blow it about once every dozen batches.

Good stuff!
