Our brush w/ culinary greatness...

Took my 7-yr old daughter to the little grocery yesterday while vacationing in Northern Michigan.

While I was examining the foccacias in the bread isle DD says "It's cold in here" (too much A.C.) to which a man walking past says "Go stand next to the rotisserie chicken case." The voice was strangely familiar and the little red ponytail too as the man kept walking. I took DD around the corner to the warm chicken case and get a better look. Sure enough...Mario Batali.

Of course the foodie geek in me wanted to run over and see what was in his basket and tell him how much I loved the beef-cheek ravioli at Babbo years ago, but I figured he was getting enough attention from the other geeky shoppers staring at him. Maybe next time smileys/smile.gif

I'd'a tackled him, then asked him to autograph his stolen clogs. This is why you can claim greatness

and not me.

Brava.
