Pacific Rose Apples - has anyone tried these?

I have. They're similar to a Pink Lady . . . which is kind of a Fuji family member.

They appear to be seasonal which I think is a good thing in fresh produce.

But...the description says they have very little tartness, and Pink Ladies have a good amount of

tartness/tang, nicely balanced with their sweetness. So whaddaya think - is the description correct?

Bought some the other day and DH did not like as much as others

did not think they were very good and would not compare to Pink Lady/Cripps Pinks.

If you like the Pink Lady/Cripps Pink/Honeycrisp but want an apple that is not as expensive, we found the Braeburn to be the best shot. Also, if you find Cripps Pinks, they are the same apple as Pink Lady and usually at least fifty cents a pound cheaper. Pink Lady is the trademarked name of Cripps Pinks from what I have determined.

Thanks MCM. I've been buying local Pink Ladies for a pretty good price, much less than nonlocal, &

they are the best I've ever tasted!
