Pictures of the bakery

Hi All. It's taken a bit to get back; sorry. I've had my computer down at work with no internet access...and quite frankly after 16-20 hours a day when I finally get home all I want to do is go to sleep. I finally got a chance to upload or download? to the photobucket site. As someone so kindly pointed out, it's 'Finer_Kitchens and 'thanks_Mimi' I hope it's not boring. I had a couple of cake pictures I wanted to add, but realized they're still in my camera which is at work! It's saturday night and I get to sleep in...woohoo!!!! Hope everyone has a blessed Memorial Day. Thank you to all who have served our country. Heather

Welcome Heather!! Glad to see you here.)

Thank you for posting the photos (Sandi too)! What an AMAZING place, a fairy tale come true. I truly wish you were somewhere nearby, I am sure it would become one of my favorite haunts. Congratulations on this accomplishment.)

Heather, it looks beautiful.

What an amazing adventure you had getting there and what a wonderful tribute to your son. God bless!

Heather, Absolutely Enchanting....Welcome back and Thank You Sandi for posting the link.

Heather...your images brought tears to my eyes.....

And I'm so happy there was a pic of you, too! You achieved your dream, girl! Justin would be so proud of what you've done! I stand amazed at your talent as I know you literally have had a hand (both hands and feet, actually!) in every bit of construction as well as the actual baking. It warmed my heart to see Pink Fish again. Well done!

In some ways it's hard to believe it's been three years since you came though Missouri and we had lunch that day, but my granddaughter will be 4 in Sept, so I know it's so.

Congratulations, Heather!! I may get back out to Portland/Seattle in the next year and if I do, I am renting a car to come visit!!

Love ya,
Gayle

I'll try again...Thanks Gayle

It is hard to believe it's been that long! I was on the road in April of 05 and started construction in May when I got back. Whew! There's still some small stuff to do around the building, but at least we're up and running. And I sure hope you do come over if you are on the coast...it's about an 8 hour drive from Seattle though.

Justin's Buzz Bars

I haven't had a chance to come up with the formula yet; but I'm developing a caffeine laden bar that would do Justin proud. I'll never forget the Easter afternoon he called and said that he was a little 'buzzed' because the night before he'd gone to an espresso bar and asked for 15 shots or a 1/4 cup whichever came first. He was rather wired and the whole story was great! Right now it's just sweet to open his gate every morning. I'm just thankful that the place has been so well received. A mom told me a couple of days ago that her 12 year old has decided the bakery is where she chills out when she's going through a hormonal thing. She will tell her mom she's going to come down, buys a small treat and something to drink and then just sits in a corner upstairs and reads or thinks. Then she'll call her mom and say, ok, I'm ready to come home now. That is just so incredibly wonderful. I was just interviewed for a publication called "Sizzle Spokane". I told the gal I encouraged 'thoughtful chewing'. She said she'd never heard of it and was wondering if I'd like to teach a class on eating...that was rich.
