The average age of a farmer in the US is 57 years old. The young farmers are having trouble getting funding and land to start farms.

Hope everyone here can take a few minutes to help support this campaign.

People we trust in the policy world are pushing the panic button, and saying that the next two weeks are hyper-critical for farm bill funding on all the conservation and environmental programs that we won in the last rounds of the Farm Bill. This includes the Beginning Farmers and Ranchers Opportunity Act of 2011 - a key package of legislation that would add new programs to help young farmers and ranchers access credit and land - two things that are key to starting and maintaining a successful farm or ranch!

Please join the National Young Farmers Coalition in asking your members of Congress to support the Beginning Farmers and Ranchers Opportunity Act of 2011 today. Click here to send your letter: (see link below)

Once you've sent your letter, please spread the word! We need to muster all the support we can get for this crucial legislation.

Thanks for your help!

Thank you! I don't usually get "politcal" here, but sustainability and local farming

are subjects that get my attention. It's critical that we keep farming in the US.

We have a few local farmers in our area that really struggle.
Please help by voting. smileys/smile.gif
I know we can do it!

Thanks all!!
