Please your favorite Brunch Recipes -

Not a recipe; but an idea... Richard had once posted details of a Bloody Mary Bar that he attended

I replicated it at one of our brunches.... Lots of fun; the vodka wasn't the highlight, (I can't do vodka), but was an interactive experience, laughing about how to enjoy a fun drink.

Made this for Christmas Morning. Rec: Wickwoods spicy strata

I had to call my friend Jane, cause the directions were nebulous. She does add the cottage cheese / yogurt mixture to the bread / eggs overnight. This was a huge hit this christmas morning. I did half with spicy sausage and half with mild. We all enjoyed the nice texture with the cheeses / bread / egg. Fresh sage is a must.

Or another thought.... A scones bar? You are so talented with your baking. I often go to the

teaberry room in flemington. They serve great home made scones with home made jam / clotted cream (You can make a substitute... search the web for rec, not the same, but will be tasty), lemon curd, etc. That would also be fun!

T&T - Over the Top Chocolate French Toast with Vanilla Custard Sauce

This one is T&T - We just served it for Christmas morning and everyone loved it! The chocolate croissant part is delicious! In my opinion, the vanilla custard sauce recipe is just "okay", but it may just be my personal opinion. You can substitute your own favorite crème Anglaise or other sauce as desired.

The recipe calls for vanilla bean paste which she says gives it more flavor. I use it when I have it, but it is just as good with regular vanilla extract as well.

Still love that recipe. Here is an egg/potato casserole recipe that you might like

Can't help but post this too- an old favorite using cream of mushroom soup- I usually double the recipe:

CZ's Brunch Casserole

1/2 pkg (large) frozen hash brown potatoes
9 eggs
1/2 cup cream
4 T butter
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1/2 lb shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 large onion, chopped
1/4 lb mushrooms, sliced
1/2 green pepper, seeded and chopped
1/2 tsp oregano
1/2 tsp basil
1/2 tsp thyme
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 T dry hot mustard
1/2 lb bacon, sliced into 1” pieces and fried crisp

Brown hash browns in 2 T butter. Put in 1/2 of the onion in the last few minutes of cooking. Put browned potatoes and onions in an 8-9” square (or round) pan.
Beat together eggs, cream, herbs, salt and mustard. Melt remaining 2 T butter in a large pan and saute´ the onion, green pepper and mushrooms until half cooked. Add egg mixture and scramble. Put on top of potatoes. Spread mushroom soup over this. Add cheddar cheese next, then bacon over the very top. (This can all be made the day before, up to this point.)
Bake at 325° for 45 minutes. If refrigerated, add another 20 minutes.

This Christmas Morning "Wifesaver" is always a hit

Ingredients
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
2 sweet red peppers, diced
2 small onions, chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
2 (10 ounce) packages frozen spinach, thawed & squeezed dry
2 (14 ounce) packages frozen puff pastry, thawed
12 ounces black forest ham, sliced
1 lb mozzarella cheese, grated
8 eggs, beaten & seasoned with
salt & pepper
1 egg, beaten (for glaze)

Directions
1 Melt butter in skillet over medium heat; cook peppers, onions & garlic for about 12 minutes or until all liquid evaporates.
2 Remove from heat & stir in spinach; set aside.
3 Roll each piece of pastry to 1/8 inch thickness; use 1 piece to line a 10 inch springform pan, leaving excess draped over sides.
4 Layer half the ham slices in the bottom, sprinkle half the cheese, spread half the veggies followed by the eggs.
5 Repeat these layers.
6 Cover with remaining pastry, trim off edges & pinch layers together; cut steam vents in the top & brush with egg glaze.
7 Place pan on a rimmed baking sheet in the centre of a preheated 400F oven for 15 minutes.
8 Reduce heat to 350F and bake for an additional 45 to 60 minutes or until top is golden & knife inserted in centre is hot when pulled out.
9 Let cool for 15 minutes; remove pan sides & cut into wedge

Thank You CarthyZ, GeorgiaRose, Deb now the hard part to choose.....Thank you all again.

Mulled cider is always a hit this time of year. I served pioneer womans christmas morning. Served

each cup with a mini slice of orange with a clove in it. The "secret" in my opinion is to add pure maple sugar, as in her rec. It added a nice viscosity to the drink... a thickness, vs. drinking hot apple cider. (I think it was a PW rec).... Maybe a combo of all recipes / plus PW.
