silicone spatulas, parchment,silpat for pnut brittle,food processor,immersion blender,santuko knife

Microplane zester, KitchenAid stand mixer, ice cream maker, parchment paper,

nut chopper for chocolate (thanks, cheezz), rice maker.

Immersion blender for me too. I've had it for less than a year. What was I thinking?

Indeed. I was surfing Dorie Greenspan's blog and her post about chocolate pudding says to put it in

the food processor or blender, yadayada, and I thought, why don't they just stick an immersion blender in the pot and whirl away to make a smooth concoction(this is done before the pudding is thick). Much easier than transferring to the FP and then back to the pot for more cooking. could have been a serious eats post.

Shaun, it's just a fun thing to have when you want to whip up some hot chocolate rather than a big

whisk, or whisk up just a little bit of dressing in a small bowl, or one egg in a little bowl. I love my mini whisk.

I didn't list the mini grater but I like it too, though I don't use it much. It's great for grating chocolate or lemon zest etc. rather than a big tool.

The internet, for sure...in my kitchen

French Chef knife - for all my chopping
fresh garlic - goes in everything except my cereal
Le Cruset pans - for the wonderful way they cook
My husband who is my sous chef

I make soup twice as often, which means I use up more leftovers, veggies, etc, stay healthy,

and save time. All for about $50.00.

1. microplane zester, 2. food processor, 3. tongs, 4. internet and FinerKitchens!...

I seem to find a way to use the microplane zester with almost everything I make, it is the perfect tool.

I went for years without a food processor-how did I ever manage! Oh, and tongs, I use them for everything now (even to flip over a frozen solid block of chili in the saucepan.)

The internet and you guys who have helped me become much more confident in my desire to learn how to cook. Still got lots of learning left in me smileys/smile.gif
