I think it's a "he". And I was only suggesting that there are other ways to make

a custard or blancmange. It isn't too bad to offer suggestions that may even be useful other places and other times.
It turns out his recipe (which I did not have any idea of except for "blancmange" did benefit from using a jello based/readily available at your supermarket item rather than $10 worth of European pudding mix. I look at economy also.
