PSA: Avoid Romaine lettuce for now — see link from consumer reports re E. coli

I was thinking the same thing!~ Nothing was posted in our store either, and they still had shelves

stocked! I saw Maria's post and shortly there after, rec'd an email from our local mom and pop coffee shop saying that their chopped salads were going to be changed.

Thanks for the heads up Maria, and interesting that the big stores, in our area, have not removed the lettuce from the shelves.

 
Still on the shelves because it’s a warning not a recall…

The E. coli has not been specifically traced anything yet in the US but in Canada it was traced to Romaine lettuce. Therefore, it has not been removed from shelves here in the US – yet because they don’t know for sure if that’s the source. Right now given they don’t know the actual source yet here in the US it’s still just a warning.
