Publix has dry scallops (no chemical phosphates added) on sale through today for

12.99 for a 1.5 lb bag, frozen. They also have them thawed in the seafood counter. This is a really great price, says $7.00 off and I pay $18 or $19 for the same amount at costco or Sam's. I'm assuming the special is available at most Publix markets, check your local ad. My ad contains the seafood counter previously frozen ones for 8.99 a lb, but doesn't mention that they are available frozen in the 1 1/2 lb bags for 12.99 a bag.

 
That's OK, I'll remeber how lucky I am as I squeeze the extra fluid out of my TJ's scallops.

 
Could you squeeze your scallops passively? I mean put them between dish towels, then put a weight on

top and go do something else for 15 minutes? That's what they always tell you to do to tofu.

 
Good idea, but then how would I release my anger at the chemical phosphates? LOL.
