Purple Plum Torte

Darn thought I had finally found a recipe that the talented people on this board had not mentioned. This purple plum torte is rated the most often published and most requested recipe from the NY times.

So after making the torte – I checked this site and see that rhoward2va posted it in 2007!

Review:: - I wasn’t able to fit all the plums into the 9” spring form pan - may cut them into quarters the next time.

It was very good warm – a lovely blend of the fruit, cinnamon and lemon.

Took at least 45 minutes – I had to put it back in for a bit.

Betty, are plums in season now? Are these those skinny & long plums (I'm sure

they have a more formal name than that...)

I just love plum.

hmm, no they were rather ordinary round purple

ones. Next time I would cut the plums smaller as the larger pieces made the surrounding area a little too moist. I made the torte again with blackberries - cooked it a bit longer - and liked it very much. After I took it out of the oven I sprinkled unrefined golden sugar on top - it looked quite pretty that way.
Thanks for asking

HaI think they're called Prune Plums...the pit would come out really easy.

The blackberries here are horrible. Very bitter, but very beautiful.
