Q: Layered salads - is there such a thing as "preferred order of layers"?

Like, all grain at the bottom, salad leaves on top etc?

I have never made layered salads before but I'd love to make salads for next weeks lunches.

Found it: The trick to the Mason jar layering >>>

..... the trick to the mason jar salad is all in the layering—start with the dressing, and then add any combination of ingredients that sounds good, finishing with the lettuce or herbs on top. Make your jars on a Sunday afternoon, and you’ll have fresh, tasty salads ready to grab on your way out the door all week long—they’ll stay fresh up to five days.

thanks Eva. this might just be the incentive I need to get back into salad eating for lunch.

packing a pretty layered salad in a jar might look more inviting than a plain plastic container.

I'm trying to get into a salad-for-lunch habit too, and I cross my fingers that the jar salads

will keep me on the salad track smileys/smile.gif
