Question for joanie: Is this what you were seeing/asking about re: your computer?

Hi love...how did you do that? I could.....

send the page I have to you...(possibly)...I have now about the same thickness of bars as is in your copy...it just seems a lot of the actual area ie the main screen, small.....however I did make it a bar smaller (narrower) and so I am happy enough with what I have....if I could make the entire area at the top just one bar thinner I would be ex-static ;>)
Thank you so much for trying to help me out.

You guys are sooooo above my head with the settings, but I do

know how to take a snapshot of a page - after many months of trying to find out how, I learned that it you click the Function (Fn) button and while holding that down, click the Print Screen button, it takes a picture of the screen that you're on. It is then copied, so then you can paste it into a picture or Word file.

Glad you're happy with what you have though, Joanie. Unless settings are how I expect them, I get so frustrated too.

How's the weather down there this weekend?

Well Thank you, I learnt some ting but I will be sure to forget it too...

where is it copied to, how do I now file it away in word?

EEEEK, I get so 'cited I saved it....thx.....

however it is not the full page like Mar posted....love learning stuff...pity the old brain cells dont always hang on to it.

Here's how I took the snapshots...

If you only have one window open, you can use the "prtscn" or PRINT SCREEN button (depending on which keyboard you have). Dawn, for this Dell keyboard, I don't have to hold down the function key to use "print screen". This option takes a picture of everything you are viewing on the monitor.

If you have multiple windows open and only want to "snapshot" the topmost window, then HOLD DOWN the ALT key + the Print Screen key.

I opened Powerpoint and PASTED it there because I wanted to add text, but also wanted to SAVE the file as a JPG (used for photos.)

Select "SAVE" and use the pulldown on the "File Type Selection" to choose JPEG (which will give the file a .jpg extension. Pay attention to where your computer saves the file. If you forget to do this, the file extension default to .ppt (for Powerpoint). You can always just open it up again and save each page as a .JPEG.

Then I opened Photobucket.com to our Finer_Kitchens link and UPLOADED the two .jpg files there. Then I copied out the .html text for each photo (located underneath the photo) and pasted it here in the MESSAGE field.

This actually took longer to write than it takes to do!

Help!! I see the key home on top ot the key prt sc underneath....

but if I press the key nothing happens..if I hold down alt with the key it goes to home page
thank you

suz, you may have a keyboard like Dawn. Does it have a FUNC (function) key?

My keyboard has a field of keys with "Home" "End", Insert, Page Up"...etc. In a separate section of my keyboard, I have prtScn, scroll lock and pause/break.

If I can picture your keyboard, it must take holding the FUNC key to activate the second usage. In your case, that would be PRINT SCREEN.

Give this a try: hold down FUNC key, then press Home/PRINT SCREEN key, then open Word and PASTE.

My function key is just "Fn"

What is Joanie's problem? I missed something. Anything I can help with?

YES, it worked!! Thank you sooo much I love learning something new..

so many keys that go unused because I am clueless how to use them or what they're for. I have most every key you mentioned but they go unused.
btw my function key is also 'Fn' lower left 2nd key to the right of ctrl...whatever that means!!!

LOL...I KNOW that means CONTROL smileys/smile.gif wish I could use that to CONTROLE errant daughters etc

Actually, they prolly need them to control me!!!!

You need to whack him upside the head with it, works every time. smileys/smile.gif

I think it has something to do with the distance from the signal.
