Question for Mimi and all, after post #1793, I have been thinking for a while....

Could we use a wine section on here, you know, like the "Grapevine" in that other neighborhood?

Anyone?

sounds good to me...

i tend to follow justin wilson's advice though.
when asked what kind of wine to serve with a given dish, he answers either "what kind you got?" or "what kind you like?"

Thanks for the reply, we will watch for your advice-heh, heh. On the Grapevine...

I started a thread with "what new did you find", someone asked a pinot question, a food pairing question, a tasting---you get it.
I will still go there, but think it would be fun here since the crowd moved??

I don't mind setting one up, if there's enough interest to ensure it would be used and not languish

That's why I have hesitated to suggest this, and I know even though

the one on Epi was pretty interesting, did not get much traffic?
Maybe just start steering people to the Beverage Forum??
Would also be fun to see some coffee posters there.
Let's see what else we hear here.
Thanks much

Is it really a separate category? I'm a hopeless food snob, but I think most wine discussions start

wih food.

That being said, I promise to at least "lurk" if you set up a separate forum.

Or maybe I'm wrong, lol. Perhaps a separate board would attract a different group entirely?

Greta Garbo, not sure about souce, had a little piece....

that went:
I drink champagne when I am thirsty,
sometimes when I am not.
When I am happy
sometimes when I am sad
When I am by myself,
or with company.

It went on for quite a bit, anyone have it??
I might try a search later.

Just a thought on this subject....

Why not just set up a "wine pairings with food" or "wine tips" in the favorites section? It seems a natural addition instead of trying to set up a whole new forum for wines.

Or, if anyone has a REALLY good idea on what to serve with the recipe & has the

experience of having tried it, we could just ask that they include with the recipe or comment even if they didn't post.

Oh, too much wine talk. Now, where's that bottle......?

Yo Joe, wine question below, get in there-Marg, love the fendant idea, never had it, but hope too,

It is a wine that hails from the Valais region of Switz'd. Not easy to find but I think

France also produces one (since it borders Valais) that may be easier.
