Question for those who corn their own corned beef....do you have to use brisket?

If so, do you know why? Wouldn't a tri-tip work?

I don't know why not. Sauerbraten is essentially corned & rump is frequently used for it.

No you don't need to use brisket. Tri tip would be just fine. I corn my own.
