Question on dinner rolls. I added the yeast to my flour mixture instead of proofing in hot water >>

Just warm the water to 130 degrees

and proceed to mix as per the recipe.
I do this regularly, and as long as your yeast is still lively, it will be fine.

Generally, recipes asking you to mix the yeast in with the flour, tell you to start with a cup of the flour, then add the rest after the hot liquids have been incorporated. but I've not had any trouble using the full amount of flour from the outset.

Good luck!

Thank you for your reply. It's for the Fluffy dinner rolls mentioned here and I'm glad I didn't

have to waste 4 cups of flour.

So, thank you Judy!

Ann
