Question on Michael's carnitas - what if I can't find bone in pork?

Without running around town to try and find it, can I just use a boneless shoulder or butt roast?

This will go in the crockpot tomorrow morning. I am addicted to carnitas so I need to learn to make them myself . The ones I got at the Mexican market went into the freezer and then I just pull out what I need.

I use whichever is available at the best price when making

BBQ, and I don't think the basic premise is any different--tough meat cooked low and slow for flavor and tenderness. The bone in pork we have here has such a small bone anyway, it could pass for boneless!!

Sometimes I use boneless shoulder roasts and even boneless loin roasts.

The shoulder roasts have more dark meat and tend to be more moist in the final product.

Either will work.

Yeah, I think Superbowl prep has reached a fever pitch. The whole valley is...

...hoppin'.

The REAL Goodyear Blimp flew low over my house this morning.

We're keeping it quiet around my house.

Not a Seahawks fan, nor a Pats fan. Plus, I would have to take out a ...

...second and third mortgage in order to score a ticket!

No way....

I didn't think so but hey, you're gonna pull for my Hawks to win

again this year just for me right?)

Not necessarily. I'm not a fan of either team. I love football, but I can't remember...

...a Super Bowl that I've had less interest in than this one. I may not even watch it.

Sorry.
