question regarding blending a drink "Lemon Drop"

I would like to make for my book club a lemon drop cocktail. The recipe I would like to use - only uses freshly squeezed lemon juice, sugar and vodka. My dilemma though is as there are nine of us -I don't really want to use a cocktail shaker three times (as the host I have a few other things to do). Could I use a blender? If so at what point would I add the ice? Thanks so much for any help.

I would use a pitcher. everything but the ice could be prepped first, then add ice, stir briskly

and pour---helps if your pitcher has a strainer top. the lemon juice could be strained before you put it into the pitcher.

thanks AngAk1 - if I get the opportunity I may try to purchase

a shaker. I didn't realize you could get them large enough to make six. Otherwise - I'll stir as per your suggestion.

Make the pitcher and stick it in the freezer an hour before guests arrive.

You can also freeze the lemoncello and vodka long before that. Gives you a jump start on the chill factor. smileys/smile.gif

Good bartenders chill the glass before pouring the drink. Load w/ ice and and water to chill, dump before adding drink.) Or you can freeze the glasses as well.

I have some really cute bottles and decided to use them, mixed up Negronis and Manhattans

and I'm thinking of something with vodka but aren't sure what just yet. They live in the fridge and are "aging" - as our trendy bartenders do here. It's rather nice not to have to do anything when I want a cocktail other than grab one ice cube and my mini shaker and do a quick swirl. Maybe I'll do a lemon drop, the recipe I use has meyer lemon juice, 1/2 of an orange, tiny bit of superfine sugar and I can't remember what else....

I did a trial run - and made a lemon drop (went out and bought

a cocktail shaker). In any event- the drink is way too potent for my taste. Instead I think now I'll make a Blood orange Martini. Much milder and pretty.

ooops - sorry to miss this - I was busy with book club

stuff. Heather's drink does indeed look good. I'll give it a try very soon.
Thanks for the suggestion.
