Quick Help Please: Making second apple tart of morning...how to make it more appealing

So I made a beautiful tart this morning for a dinner party tonight but unfortunately I added too much cinnamon (bad, Debb, bad) and now need to make another one. However, with the first I made the top layer of the apple slices attractive by fanning them all around..but they are baking up kind of dry looking. I've tried brushing them with butter but that really didn't get me anywhere..

TIA - Deb

Melt some apple or apricot jelly and brush the top with that--some slivered or sliced...

almond along the edges look great.

Will do this for sure the next time....

DH insists that the first tart was absolutely scrumptious (as we stole little pieces of the fans...) and thats what he wants to bring tonight. So...I only got as far as making the dough of the second one. It's in the fridge and I'm going to make another tart tomorrow for my nephews and I will definitely glaze with apricot jelly - thank you! (I'm also bringing a chocolate fudge cake, four layers, with white chocolate and dark chocolate ganache fillings, frosted with a dark chocolate buttercream, a box of oreo truffles, and a bottle of wine!)

Funny thing is...just as I was freaking out about the first tart and running to make a second dough, we turned on America's Test Kitchen and lo and behold they were making an apple tart! And glazed it with apricot jelly!

My taste buds are a bit off - just came back from Urgent Care - needed to be put on an antibiotic for some bizarre rosy rash/infection that has decided to take over my right cheek (face, that is:). So maybe that's why I think the apple tart was so bad. (I'm still of that opinion). But DH - who does know a good apple pie/tart...says I'm meshugana (Yiddish for 'crazy')!!
