Quick Sunday Six

Last night's dinner was rotisserie chicken from Wal-mart (leftovers to be used tonight in the salad), spinach sauteed in garlic-lime vinaigrette, German potato salad, baking powder biscuits with honey, and white zinfandel. Yum.

Preparing for Super Bowl party tonight, although *I* will be running back and forth between that and watching Downton Abbey from 9-10 in another room. Decided upon pineapple-coconut shrimp, Joe's warm chicken/mango/avocado salad (your whole menu sounded GREAT, Joe), pork kebabs with Sylvia's jerk marinade, and coconut-lime-cilantro rice. Mai Tais, beach balls, sand around for atmosphere, and beach towels as tablecloths.

Learned never to go to a pancake breakfast (yesterday) at the tail end of it (

Also learned never leave a bag of groceries in the car when it's 0 degrees out because your hands are full. Tomato and sour cream are now pretty such useless; but bleach doesn't freeze ;o)

Pork Stew in the crockpot over rice Friday night

I bought a nice glass pitcher at an antique shop, what I'll use it for I'm not sure. It's only about 6-7 inches tall.

Making the serenity stones from Hungry Happenings-

Have a batch of chilled red velvet cake ball mix, so I'll spend the afternoon rolling and dipping.

Making sugared cranberries.

Have pb cookie mixed and need to bake it up.

Need to mix and bake the chocolate peppermint loaf from Trader Joes. Someone here said it was very good served with cream cheese, I believe.

I guess hubby might get hungry so it's bacon burgers for dinner.

I am excited over your beach themed party. I told a few friends about it. It sounds perfect with

the weather and accompanying colds everyone seems to be suffering from. I am sure all of your guests will be smiling with the creative party.

I made ROCKS!!! Cool smileys/smile.gif

Dawn, keep a small cooler in your car for cold weather grocery runs---works to keep food un-frozen

for longer than if you just put it in the car. does that make sense??

Lol... this is never intentional. (I forget they are in there.)But thanks for the suggestion anyway!
