Rant: This is the last straw. We fenced in all of our greens in the garden so the rabbits wouldn't

get at them. Just went back to pick some zuccs and found, on top of the fence post, a piece of cucumber, s few leaves of lettuce and three green tomatoes. The stinking squirrels are making salads with MY produce.

Next year we buy at the farmer's market. I'm done.

I had the same frustration last year. Not only did they eat them, but on more than one occasion

they would stop by my back sliding glass door and have the evidence in their mouth to show me!!! I gave up on gardening this year. But, will probably do something next year, although not on a grand scale. I did miss my garden this summer.

It must be even more frustrating having just put in your fence! That in itself is alot of work! So sorry.

edited to add that I had more of an issue with chipmunks. (Although the squirrels did partake)

Chipmunks are my bane in the summer. I don't put out vegetables, but the little buggers dine on

the edible flowers I plant to use for food & table garnish. In the past I have averaged trapping 5 or 6 each summer. (My grand total to date is 52.)

This year a neighbor's outdoor cat is doing the job for me--Frampton (named for singer Peter Frampton, whom some of you baby boomers might recall) has nabbed 4 chipmunks in our yard, bless his heart. He is always so proud when he collars a chipmunk & will bring the carcass right up to our back door so I can 'ooh and aaah' over it and praise him to the skies--which I do(!)--plus I break open a can of Fancy Feast in order to reward his pouncing skills which are not bad for a 13-year-old kitty (the vet tells me that is equivalent to 91 in people yrs).

At any rate, CynUpstateNY, I totally understand your frustration. One of my girlfriends has trouble with deer--those things can jump high fences w/ ease so she's given up on vegetable gardening.

How frustrating. I just found this item online--sounds too good to be true, but

I may try it in my attic--I didn't realize the rats were back until we had an earthquake last weeks and they all squealed at once. Eeeewwwww.

We have a huge avocado tree and the squirrels take one bite out of every avocado they can reach. We leave them some at the base of the tree but they pass right by them.

About a yr ago I ordered & use Good Life's "Dog Silencer Pro" and that thing has worked great

to tone down the barking from our next-door neighbor's dog (we'd asked them to pls keep Max's barking controlled, but either they have no control over it either or else they didn't care so didn't try very hard). I should imagine the Guaridan would also be a reliable product for pest control. I only wish they sold something to repel chipmunks as I would order that el pronto.

Dog silencer or repeller? smileys/smile.gif was looking good to me to repel winter attic mice

Yup, in 5 years I have managed to eat TWO...T W O... peaches from my tree

I dont mind sharing, but they begin with the hard little green ones, pick it, take one bite and repeat every day until they're finally gone

DH sits on the enclosed back porch and sticks the gun out

The window. We have a judge as a neighbor who laughingly tells him he's ll have him arrested if he catches him.
