I was beginning to think there was some kind of universal problem with us, users of XP. I have an email friend whose computer died the same time mine did. I have Norton antivirus and trust it, wondered what in the world happened.
My husband explained this AM that her CPU died, it's the heart of the computer. My computer would run but my hard drive died, so no programs were being recognized, so I couldn't use mine, even though it would run.
Meryl, he said Windows NT is for networking and it is integrated into XP...somehow the cursor or pointer on your program has gotten deleted that you click on normal to get to WordPad. He said without that you wouldn't find WordPad unless you do what the person at able2know told you. Maybe someone there can tell you how to restore your pointer or cursor, whatever way you used to find it.
So I guess there is no similar problem or virus or conspiracy going on here with XP users.
