Made the recipe Joanietoo posted called crunchies, her Mums recipe, but they did not stay together in squares. I got a few squares, but the rest crumbled. I have no idea what I could have done wrong as I followed the recipe and directions to a T. The mixture was not very moist when I put it into the pan. Baked it at 300º 40 minutes as directed. Joanie, if you read this do you have any ideas? Has anyone else tried these yet? By the way I found the Lyles Golden syrup at World Market. Also check out British Goumet Ltd. They are locsted at:

7901 East Thomas Road Ste.105 Sottsdale, AZ 85251

Ph: 480-994-3837 They do mail order if you wish. I found that they had the syrup after I got mine at World Market. If you have World Market in your area, check it out. By the way this tastes delicious. Way too many calories to eat a lot of these. Did a recipe analysis on calorie count

Now that I've looked carefully, I'm thinking these are closer to ANZAC cookies rather hobnobs.

Hobnobs have a bit of wholewheat in them along with the oats, while the ANZACs have oats, flour and coconut.

I'm thinking it's all good.

I cant tell you as th ones I made were not crumbly...try the other recipe

which is my Mum's true recipe....post 11515....I ahve not made these again yet...all the years I made the former recipe and it wasn't my Mum's and I blamed the oats on it.....still very good....

Did you use enough butter? Did you leave the crunchies in the pan to cool??? If you take them out too soon they do crumble...you need to let them get crunchie first...still warm though when you lift them out carefully and then let them cool again.
