RE: low number for my posts at EPI (post 2327.4.1)

I have no clue as to why epi has rated Dawn or myself as low as we are.

Who knows why those folks do what they do?

Well.......personally, I think they probably hired a food snob, like a couple I won't mention by name (but you know who I mean - the lawyer turned food critic, and the -ahem - slightly very heavy female) on the Iron Chef American...

These are the folks who are so full of themselves and very, very pretentious...and phony...and really don't know squat about food and MOST DEFINATELY, DO NOT REALIZE what people like, want and need in the culinary realm.

What Epi did not take into consideration was that PEOPLE WANT RELATIONSHIPS...and food is a very relational - and we had that with Gail's and also here. It ISN'T JUST THE RECIPES THAT ATTRACT US. We know a bit about what has happened or is happening with folks here, we know the kitchen failures and successes with various recipes - because here, as with Gail's, people feel safe, they are among friends, and they know for the most part, we can share and not be afraid of being attacked etc.

And also, there are plenty of professionals, if you will, in this group who know food, know food trends, new ingredients etc. and unselfishly share.

If someone new came on Gail's or comes on here, and asks a question, they were/are not treated with sneering contempt.

Oh, sure, Gail's and yes, even here - were/are not perfect. Our humaness does rear its obstinance etc. every so often.

Give me the honesty, and the human-ness, the caring and the sharing of this group and the old Gail's instead of epi's sterile (and often unworkable) format.

Nope, I'm not angry, just disappointed that epi was and remains, short-sided.

as always, dear hearts, consider yourselves hugged.

You've said it well, OrigCyn. I just checked and I had 177 posts. Talk about

beating a dead horse! I stopped posting there around Easter. Someone had asked weeks before Easter about the best way to serve asparagus for the holiday and I responded. Weeks later, right before Easter, the whole thread reappeared with the dates moved up. It was wierd to log in and see a "brand new" post from myself that I'd typed weeks before. Did they think we wouldn't notice stuff like that?

Hi Cyn, Not to be ignorant, but I do not understand. What did they do? I looked over there...(m)

No action. Similiar to many of us, we peruse for any old friends that appear as well as habit. What did they do?

I agree they caused much pain. Thank goodness for People like Mimi, Neener and FK to offer alternatives.

Regards,

Barb

Barb, I happened to slip in there one day a while ago and noticed that...

they had listed Dawn_MO as having only 3 or 4 posts (it has since changed, even though there are no recent posts of hers), and Cyn as having only 5... I was just wondering why that was.

Probably nothing vengefull on their part, just working with a bunch of staff that doesn't know their stuff.

I never post there anymore, just check in to see who's there.

This seems like a good time to say thanks to all you regulars

for treating us newbies and infrequent posters with helpfulness and kindness. I love reading this forum: it's the first place I go to search for a recipe or advice, and I wish I could keep up and post more. Maybe someday. In the meantime, thank you!!

I checked it out....I have 0 posts!!! I am sure it was a programing thing...And actually, I haven't

posted there in ages. Thanks for explaining.

Barb
