4 cups cooked cabbage (boil in salt water

until tender)

2 cups white sauce

1/4 tsp bread crumbs

salt

pepper

Place a layer of cabbage in buttered casserole. Cover with white sauce and sprinkle with salt and pepper.

Add second layer of cabbage, white sauce, and crumbs on top. Cook at 350F for 1 1/2 hours.

Dawn's note: add ham, and or cheese and it makes a meal. I made this last night in the toaster oven for dinner and it was surprisingly very good and easy. Ham was very tender because of the low, slow roasting.
