Crockpot Moroccan Applesauce Cake

1/2 c Butter

1 c Sugar

2 Eggs

1 ts Vanilla

1 c Applesauce

1 1/2 ts Baking soda

1 1/2 c Flour

1 ts Cinnamon

1/2 ts Salt

1 c Chocolate chips

3/4 c Dates; chopped

Or raisins

3/4 c Walnuts; chopped

Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs one at a time. Beat until smooth. Add vanilla. Combine applesauce and soda.Stir in.

Mix flour, cinnamon and salt. Add to creamed

mixture. Beat until smooth. Beat until smooth.

Mix in choc. chips, dates and walnuts. Turn into a greased and floured 2 quart pudding mold.

Place in crockery part of crock part. Cover with 4 layers of paper towels. Place lid loosely on top of crockpot so that steam can escape. Cook

on High for 3 to 3 1/2 hours, or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.

Ang, I've never heard of making steam in the crockpot. I had an old crockpot with a liner I bought

but I never used it; I do remember you were just supposed to sit the liner inside the crockpot and 'bake' with it.

If it doesn't say it. in the recipe, don't add it
