HOT CROSS BUNS
1 1/3 Cups milk
1 egg, beaten
1/4 cup butter
1/3 cup sugar
1 1/4 tsp. salt
4 cups white all purpose flour
1 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ground cloves
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1 T + 1/4 tsp. yeast
Add Ingredients: 3/4 cup raisins or mixed fruit
1. Measure and put first 10 ingredients into the pan.
2. Select Dough Setting.
3. At Add Ingredients Beep, add fruit.
4. When cycle is complete remove dough from machine to a lightly floured surface. If necessary add enough flour to make the dough easy to handle. Divide dough into 18 pieces, shaping each into a round, slightly flatted bun. Place 2 inches apart on a greased baking sheet. Cover and let raise for 30 minutes or until double in bulk.
5. Combine 1 slightly beaten egg with 1 tbsp. of water and brush on buns. With sharp knife, make two slits 1/4 inch deep on top of each bun to form a cross.
Bake at 350° F for 15 to 18 minutes. Remove from oven and immediately drizzle with glaze.

1 tbsp. milk
1/4 tsp. almond flavouring
