Rec. Israeli Style Carrots

This is from Southern Living's Party

1-1/2# young carrots

4 tbsp butter

1/3 c dry white wine

1/2 tsp ground nutmeg

2/3 c. currants

3 tbsp light brown sugar

Peel or scrape carrots and cut into 1/4" diagonal slices. Put in a saucepan with butter, wine and nutmeg. Cover and cook over low heat until carrots tender. Stir in raisins and sugar and continue cooking for a few minutes longer, until raisins are plump and carrots are glazed.

This is different and extraordinarily good. Serves 6
