Ok...
Thank you all for ideas for our sleepover. We ended up having chicken satay and couscous with roasted veges.
Malaysian spice paste:
2 T. Malaysian spice mix:
2 T. cumin
2 T. coriander
2 T. tumeric
2 tsp cinnamon
2 tsp each S and P
1/2 tsp cayenne
4 green onions
1 T. chopped ginger
2 strips lemon zest
2 T. lemon juice
2 T. soy sauce
3 T. vege oil
Process to a paste and marinate chicken
This is from Best Summer Weekends by Jane Rodmell
that I found at the library.
Food on a stick! Very fun and beautiful with separate vege sticks along with the satays.
For breakfast this morning I cheated and served bacon, cinnamon french toast, and watermelon.
Oh- I almost forgot the banana ice cream that I made!
And of course the neighbors wandered over and joined us once they smelled the grill. : )
That said... it was a success and I'm exhausted.
Thanks again for your ideas and support!
