I was looking thru all my old Mar issues of Gourmet and Bon Apetite in search of things to make for a St Patricks dinner at the beginning of March. In the Mar 96 issue of Gourmet there are the FABULOUS cookies. Of course I had to try the immediately. and I am soooo glad I did. These cookies are now on my list of absolute favorites.
I love that he grinds some of the oatmeal and thy are absolutely packed with chocolate. Just because we each have our own preferences, next time I make them I will use milk chocolate for the 8 oz of grated chocolate. And I think I might sub some chopped peanuts for some of the chocolate chips.
