I was looking for away to use up the 40 or so full size Hershey Bars left over from Halloween and then I remembered this recipe. Made it yesterday - a big hit.

I did tweak it some:

- I used 1/2 cane sugar and 1/2 light brown sugar

- I used way more Hershey bars - did a double layer of them. Not necessary but I just wanted to use some up

- made it in a 9"x9" pan

Marilyn, I am cracking up in southern IN. I had a friend once who absolutely loved 1 of the Girl

Scout cookie types--can't remember if she liked the thin mints or maybe it was the shortbread one called Trefoils or something close. Anyhow, she put the cookies in her chest freezer that was inside a storage shed out in their back yard so she "couldn't" get into them as easily as when the cookies were in her refrigerator freezer in the kitchen. Well, she called me one day to tell me she knew she had a BIG PROBLEM because the night before about 9 pm and in the snow, she trudged through several drifts to get at those cookies and was eating them frozen on her way back to the house--dressed in her flannel nightgown, a big thick robe, a stocking cap, gloves & her knee-high boots!

So rest assured, you have company! For me personally, it is ice cream I cannot leave alone. As of Nov. 17 I have gone 10 whole days without any ice cream, and I'm starting to dream about hot fudge sundaes w/ redskin Spanish peanuts. Sigh. I was born with 32 sweet teeth instead of just a single sweet tooth!
