in 2005 it looks like and I had no takers evidently. So I think I'll get pushy with ya'll. This is really good and so easy to put together (says me with the bad back). Try it sometime, you'll love it. Slightly sweet and savory at the same time. I usually serve it with potatoes quartered and tossed with EVOO, salt, pepper and Parm. Perfect side with a salad. Making it tomorrow.

Pork Balls with Raisin Sauce

Serving Size : 6

1 Pound ground pork

1 Cup Oats,Rolled,Dry

1/4 Teaspoon Cinnamon,Ground

1/4 Teaspoon Cloves,Ground

kosher salt

2 Teaspoons prepared mustard

2 lg. Eggs,Whole,Raw -- slightly beaten

1/2 Cup milk

3/4 Cup raisins

1/3 Cup Sugar,Brown,Pressed Down

1/4 Teaspoon Cinnamon,Ground

3 Tablespoons Vinegar,Cider

1 Tablespoon Cornstarch

Ham Balls: Preheat oven to 400 F. In large bowl, with hands, lightly mix first 8 ingredients and 1/4 tsp. salt and 1/4 tsp. pepper until combined. Shape into 12 balls, dividing evenly. Arrange in shallow baking dish; bake uncovered,15 min.

Meanwhile, make sauce:

In small saucepan, bring raisins, brown sugar, cinnamon, vinegar and 1 1/2 cups water to boiling; simmer 5 min. In small bowl, mix cornstarch with 1/4 cup water until blended; stir into raisin mixture. Bring to boiling, stirring constantly; simmer 1 min., until thickened.

Pour over ham balls; Bake 30 minutes longer, basting occasionally with sauce mixture.

Sounds wonderful. Should the instructions say "...first 6 ingredients" instead of 8?

What a great winter meal! Would you serve them with mashed potatoes?

Oh you're right Joe and I just edited it. Thanks, I didn't catch that. You

could serve it with mash potatoes but I think you're thinking it has a sauce when finished. It doesn't. The pork balls just become sort of glazed, not any sauce to go over a mash. Sometimes if I know there won't be a sauce I will make mashed potatoes and add all kinds of stuff like sliced green onion and shredded cheddar cheese. Sometime I'll add roasted minced green chilis or whatever so they kinda stand alone on their own without the need of a sauce. I usually do roasted potato wedges with these pork balls cause it really goes well. I really love these.

I love roasted potato wedges too. I add sliced onions and peppers sometimes....

no sauce needed.

Thanks again for the recipe--the idea of them glazed sounds all the better.

RECIPE CHANGES....so sorry to yell but in case anyone is planning

on making this recipe (and I highly recommend that you do) I left out 2 ingredients. I've edited it to add kosher salt and prepared mustard to the balls. I don't know how that happened and I apologize.

Why can't I edit the link that I posted? It's my original post but it tells

me I don't have permission to make changes. Huh?

Oh, OK. Seems like I've done it before. Too bad cause I hate that

it's missing a couple of things. This is so yummy and the next day just slice up those little, ahem, "round things" for an awesome sandwich. So good!
