because my DH is a gingerbread junkie and it was his birthday. Although it had some mixed reviews, many liked it. We thought it was outstanding and just a tiny bit different than your regular gingerbread. The orange marmalade gave it a wonderful little flavor boost and it reminded us of Christmas. It was also very moist and heavy! I must say, as the reviewers did, that it took longer to bake than the recipe states. Instead of 38 minutes, it took about 50 minutes in my gas oven (and the temp is correct.) I also had to go to several stores before finding "self-rising" flour. Serve with lots of whipped cream.
