RECIPE: REC: Roasted Brussels Sprouts with Squash, Apples and Candied Walnuts

RECIPE:
How much fresher were the ones you got at Farmer's...maybe picked the night before?

I'm always amazed at how long the produce I buy from the growers lasts versus what I get at TJ's. Sometimes their produce only lasts a few days...I am not too impressed with their produce and only buy certain items like golden fingerling potatoes, the Dutch kind, and those brown Kumato tomatoes which they have in the winter.

I have kept a stalk of brussels sprouts for a month, using what

I needed and they were always delicious and fresh. TJ's are great.

This stalk was easily 2 feet long and chock full of sprouts.

The neat thing was also that that there were big and tiny ones to use as I wanted. And when I say a month--we could have them once a week. It sort of amazed me. I also had an extra fridge to keep them in.
