These are really tasty. I had the pleasure of attending a

book-signing for Dorie's newest baking book a few weeks ago (and the honor of baking an item for that event). Another baker had brought these rugelach which were oh-so yummy. In fact everything I've sampled from her book so far has been great.

 
Hi Pat, I've only tried her Cinnamon Squares so far, but will definitely be

baking more recipes from her book. By the way, what did you bake for the event?

 
Hi Meryl,

I was asked to make the lemon poppyseed muffins. Made them in miniature form so folks could have bite-size portions as there were 9 other items being sampled that day.

Dorie delighted us with great stories of having worked with both Julia Child and Pierre Herme on her books with them. What a neat lady she is.

I made these this weekend and they were fabulous! The cookie is so tender and flavorful. They were surprisingly easy to make, i was at first a bit wary of all the stpes involved. But i made double the batch, and did rasberry jam, apricot jam and sweet orange marmalde ones.
