I made this last year and everyone swooned and said it was the best pie they'd ever had. I made it again last weekend and everyone (different people) swooned and said it was the best pie they'd ever had, "incredible," "a contest winner."

I used my favourite pie dough recipe instead of the one in the recipe. But the filling is superb. Make sure to use the suggested mix of sweet and tart apples -- which would actually work beautifully in any apple pie.

Shaun, This recipe sounds great! Thanks for the post. I was impressed that all the reviews

on it were positive. Generally, there are some who give a thumbs-down review while others award a top, i.e., a full 4-fork, designation. Always makes me exceptionally curious as to how some cooks can absolutely love a recipe while other people think the identical food item was horrible.
