This recipe probably came from a 1970s community cookbook. It's so NOT gourmet, but IS very light, easy, and I love making (and serving) it 2-3 times a summer.

Strawberry Angelcake

9 ounces strawberry gelatin powder

2 1/2 cups boiling water

2 pounds frozen strawberries, whole -- partially thawed

1 large angel food cake -- torn into pieces

1 large Cool Whip®

Mix Jello and boiling water, add strawberries then add cake pieces and toss to absorb. Pour into 9 x 13 pan and refrigerate for 2 hours. Cover with Cool Whip and serve.
