This will be on my menu VERY soon. It was the award winnng soup recipe in the Nat'l Turkey Federation "Turkey with a Twist".

Yield: 8 servings

1 1/2 lb ground turkey

1 tsp canola oil

1/2 cup red pepper, diced

1/2 cup green pepper, diced

1 cup yellow onion, diced

1 TBSP garlic, minced

1 TBSP ginger, peeled & minced

1/2 cup reduced sodium soy sauce

1 15 px can diced tomatoes

1 15 oz can kidney beans, drained

8 oz tomato sauce

1/2 tsp five spice powder

1 tsp ground blk pepper

1 TBSP chili powder

1 tsp wasabi powder

1 TBSP Asian chili paste

1 tsp salt

1 TBSP sesame oil

8 cups sticky rice, cooked

2 TBSP sesame seeds, toasted

Brown turkey in oil & drain. Reserve liquid.

In reserved drippings, saute the peppers, onion, garlic & ginger. Do not brown. Add soy sauce, tomatoes, beans & tomato sauce. Bring to a boil; reduce heat. Return cooked turkey to the stockpot. Stir in all other ingredients. Simmer for 1 hour over low heat.

Spoon 1 cup sticky rice into a large shallow bowl. Press rice to the edges & top with chili.

Sprinkle with sesame seeds.

Moyn I love the Asian twist on this chili. I'm puttin' it on my list. I'd love to ...

know how it turns out for you. Thanks for posting it!

This sounds great Moyn, thanks for posting it! We are supposed to get snow

tonight and tomorrow, so soup sounds great right about now.

I made this tonight, and I thought it was good, not great...

there was just something about it that didn't wow me. I didn't have any green pepper, so I used all red bell pepper. I added celery and some minced water chestnuts and cut back the soy sauce to 1/3 cup. When it was done, it just seemed off. So I added some hoisin, more chile garlic paste, and some fresh cilantro. We liked it, but I am surprised that it won the grand prize. I will be interested to see how others like it.

Dawn, I appreciate that you made it, and glad for your comments.>>

We are not really lovers of chili, and Teddy doesn't really love soup for dinner. But this sounded so good, I thought I could "get away with
it". Now, I'd be reluctant to even try it, and more inclined to just use some of the spices & herbs with the ground turkey in a meat loaf!
