I've tried turkey burgers in the past and just don't like them at all. No taste and dry. So I came up with this recipe, and they are very, very good. Having them for dinner.
1 lb ground turkey (93% lean)
2/3 cup bread crumbs
1/4 cup whole cranberry sauce or cooked cranberries with equal amount sugar
1 egg
Zest of 1 orange
2 T fresh parsley, minced
1/4 cup blue cheese, crumbled
1 tsp garlic, minced
2 tsp onion powder
salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Combine ground turkey and bread crumbs. Mix in cranberry sauce, well-beaten egg, and mustard; combine well. Add remaining ingredients and form into 1-inch balls, wetting hands with water or orange juice.
Pan-fry, covered, in a non-stick pan about 4 minutes over low heat until browned slightly. Turn over and cook, covered, about 4 more minutes or until done. Serve with turkey gravy over rice or noodles.
