Makes you wonder if that was why the Hershey's plant in Canada was closed. They made peanut butter
cups. Plant was closed because of a salmonella outbreak last fall.

Thank you for posting this. I was not aware of this, and had a jar of the recalled peanut butter...
I also had a son who started vomiting on Saturday at 3am and ran a fever and had cramps for three days. He finally was feeling better yesterday. I just sent another sandwich to school with him today. I called the school and told them to please remove it from his lunchbox. I don't know that he had salmonella, but it was much longer than the normal stomach flu. Thanks for putting this out there for those of us who live in clouds.

Oh dear - made peanut butter cookies with chocolate kisses on them - sent them with DH to work
yesterday. And now I see that our jars all have the code on them. Maybe the cooking killed the salmonella? Hopefully? Wishful thinking?
Oh well - DH will find out when he goes to work today. Just called the neighbor and told her to "toss her cookies" - we sent a plate to her yesterday.
