Come one, come all. Post your favorite recipes to put the KA Artisan through it's paces. Let's see if we can break it while still under the 30 day return policy.

He-he-hee! smileys/smile.gif

PS Gosh it's purty; the brushed nickel doesn't have a scratch on it.

I would try a heavy whole wheat dough or a pastry dough that need 30 minutes kneading

I'll try to see which one it is that I've read always burns out the mixer.

If you really want to strain it, get the meat grinder attachment and make sausage

I burned up one KA this way and severely strained another one by making about 25 lbs or so of sausage. Grinding the meats, mixing them in the bowl with spices/herbs then using the sausage stuffer attachment to push it all into casings. A real test for sure!

Another KA buster is

Nancy Silverton's Raisin Brioche dough.

That one came close to killing my poor 275 watt vintage KA. It has miraculously recovered, however.
It has mixed many pounds of sausage meat, grinding first, then mixing, then filling casings.
It's also done yeoman duty beating egg whites for 7 minute frosting and gelatin and sugar syrup for marshmallows.

I don't seem to be able to kill it!

What's to clean? I put my Cuisinart parts (bowl, both pushers, metal blade) into the dishwasher--

have been doing that for the 25 years I've owned it. I also grate Parmesan and shred all types of cheeses (Gruyere, Swiss, cheddars, etc.) in it--always have.

I wish the pushers came all apart...

I got the biggest size thinking it would double as KA too (yeah, no). It has this huge contraption for a pusher that you can't take completely apart @#$%^&*(&^%$#.
