Remembering special long box chocolates

For those who have retired from large institutions, as in my case a large pediatric hospital, maybe your experience was the same as mine. Before regulations came about where sales people could bring in a box of donuts or at Christmas most sales reps would bring in chocolates. I have always been curious where did the sales reps get these chocolates which were in long boxes and of european origin at least that's how they looked. Now I am not talking about the overly sweet Sees as the boxes where at least twice the length of a Sees box and as everyone knows what a good european chocolate tastes.

I've seen long boxes of chocolates at Trader Joe's. It's a holiday thing for them...

...and if I remember right, I think they were about 3' long, and filled with EU chocolates.

Michael, I've seen those. Their nothing in size or quality to the boxes we got at work

These boxes were expensive, I can't estimate a price but just looking at it you'd know instantly this is some high end sh###t.

Oli, there are companies that focus on corporate gifts, such as candy, baskets, etc. Yours probably

came from one of those "non-public shopping" companies that supply gifts from big distributors to their customers. A rep from the pharmaceutical or medical equipment company might have gifted your hospital staff with that candy.
