Chicago Eating

In Chicago a year ago...loved lunch at BlackBird, I think it is owned by the same group that owns Avec - it was fabulous.
Also had a fun time at Weber's Grill - downtown, runs the length of a block - from one corner to the next..it was great for a crowd (USC/ND weekend - no I didn't go to the game, I'm love food/dining/eating). The chefs cook on the Classic Weber grills behind a glass wall...Ordered Grilled romaine salad. Also had lunch at Spiggia - excellent; SIL's BD dinner at Capitol Grill - steak house food - top drawer.
I use www.Opentable.com for info and reservs. ..take a the Architecture river cruise, Chicago is considered the architecture mecca for US. Have a great time....maybe chicago is the 2nd rated culinary city in US. SueYoung in SoCa.

So many to choose from, but I don't think you'll find foie gras in Chicago. Outlawed or something

We go to Chicago twice a year...

with the emphasis being on museums, shows, and eating (big emphasis on the latter).

A month ago while there we ate at Kevin Restaurant (www.kevinrestaurant.com) and it was wonderful.

Also - we love eating at The Pennisual hotel. Their lobby restaurant is lovely - the food is amazing. As is their little restaurant next door - I think it is something like Perriot Gourment??

Enjoy,
Deb

What's the name of that little Russian restaurant on Adams?

It was near the art institute. Loved having lunch there. They also do a great tea service for a nice pick me up if you're weary of standing on your feet all day staring at masterpieces at the art institute.

The restaurant on top of the John Hancock building used to be very nice, and a great view(revolving)

It's worth the trip up just to have cocktails in the bar if it's a nice day or to have lunch.

Hey Ang, I did go up there some years back and enjoyed it......

We will only be in CHI for a couple days as we will be in Milwaukee and environs for longer.

I'm looking for .....

amongst cuisines....sushi, Greek and fine dining...I have a husband who is crazy for sushi, we all love Greek and don't have single restaurant where we live. Thank you for your suggestion I'll keep them in my note book, who knows they may just be the ones we go to in the end.
hugs

I don't know .......

where the wedding is even and the pre-party is still in the planning...what ever/wherever it will all be great fun.

If they have the reception at a hotel, they often have special rates for the guests to overnight. I

would wait and find out where they are holding the festivities so you can find a hotel close-by or even at the event itself.

For delicious, fun, affordable Tapas meal - Cafe Ba-Ba-Reeba on N. Halsted

We were in Chicago about this time last year for 3 nites -- this restaurant was casual and so fabulous! Ate here the first nite and it took all of our restraint NOT to return for the next two dinners -- made ourselves try some other places! We recommended this place to other folks at our conference so they could enjoy it as much as we did.

Mmmmm ... Sangria ...!
