I found this set at Costco near Christmas. Did anyone else try these?

I've never cooked with any kind of truffle flavor before. So far, I just put the salt on scrambled eggs and added a bit to soup What are good foods to try with each?

Sea Salt label: sea salt, black truffles, flavors

Zest label: black truffe flavor, carob powder, salt black truffle.

Oh yes, I got a bottle of the zest as a gift and used it all on popcorn and pasta

Now I am working on bottle #2.

- Roasted potatoes
- in mayonnaise for truffled mayo
- in sauteed mushrooms
- as a rim on a martini with a pickled mushroom

Yep, the best. Yukon Gold or Kennebec, sliced thin on a mandoline,

fried in corn oil, then removed to drain on paper towel lined sheet pan and salted right away with truffle salt (salt lightly -- less is more with pretty much any truffle flavoring). Serve with truffle crème fraiche dip to gild the lily (add a few drops of truffle oil to crème fraiche).
Decadent and addictive. Bet you can't eat just one. smileys/wink.gif

I bought the zest at Cost Plus World Market. It was $13 plus change. Texture is not like zest

more of a powder. I already have truffle salt, and a great truffle oil, really did not need this but am a sucker for stuff like this. I used the zest in a quick marinara sauce, and it gave it a great earthy kick. Very good. Outrageous price for the size of bottle.

I made brussels sprouts two days in a row. Cut in half, tossed with truffle oil

coarse sea salt and pepper, then roasted at 375 until it starts to char. Remove from oven and drizzle with a good fig balsamic. OMG, it is heaven.. I love anything with truffle.

was at costco and got this set today just because you guys were talking about it..
