we were told that Libby has Lymphoma carcinoma

Cancer.

We have an appointment for an oncologist but to give Libby chemotherapy it would only extend her life maybe a year or 18 mo ~ but... the chemotherapy is going to be real hard on her very sick actually plus... (I hate to say this) but it will cost into the thousands. We just put Emmitt to rest in Dec (12/22/07) which cost over 9,000 and we just don't have thousands more ~ We absolutely love Libby with all our heart and she is only 5 1/2 yrs old. But the money is just not there ~ because of Emmitt.

We do have pet insurance and if they will cover it we'll give her the chemo, if not.. we could only afford about half and that is not good ~ We won't have her suffer if it is half.

And we have to think of Sunny too, she is highly attached to Libby and to help her now, while Libby is still herself, we are going to get a puppy tomorrow to help Sunny when it's Libby's time.

It so so so unfair, Libby is so petite and gentle and never ever caused us a problem nor was she naughty ~ can't say the same for Sunny ~ major spoiled brat and a goof ball.

DH is taking this so hard, Libby is his special baby.

We're taking lots of pictures and since Libby is no longer on a food trial, we're basically giving her any and all things she loves.

My son is sad as well, Emmitt was his dog and now Libby too.

Thank you everyone for all the great advice. Hopefully Libby is with us for more time than we think, but she is loosing weight and it's noticable though she does have quite a bit of energy still.

Poor Libby , so young! -- she depends on you for comfort and

safety. We lost our beloved rottie a few years ago to cancer, so I know what you are going through. Osa let us know when she had had enough, and the passing was peaceful and painless. You will do the right thing when the time comes. Hard for the kids, I know. Bless your heart for caring so much.

Big hugs to you and your family, Dianne.

Sometimes, it's just not fair, but Libby's lucky to have such a caring family.

Give her a big hug for me too.

Dianne, I know hard hard it is. What a dilemma! Hopefully your pet insurance

will cover your costs. After all, isn't that why they offer it? Wishing you all the best and keep us up to date.

For what it's worth, I gave my cat a natural immunobooster and he fought off his bone infection (from hardware put there from his broken leg) wonderfully. Then again, he is in good health. But it'd be worth a try. Email me if you want the details... I don't want to advertize here.
