SallyBR, I made your Shrimp Moqueca ala Sally from your blog. I received the April issue of Food

and Wine magazine last week and there is a recipe in it for a Brazilian Seafood Soup (Moqueca). It uses scallops, shrimp and squid, dende (or peanut) oil and esprit d'pimento. I remembered your blog post on a very similar recipe, Shrimp Moqueca and went to your blog to read about it again.

I decided to make your recipe and we really enjoyed it. I had fire-roasted tomatoes but I was too timid with the siracha, we added more at the table. Thanks so much for posting it. And I got a laugh out of your post from Paris where you said you had bought the esprit d'pimento.

I got the magazine yesterday in the mail....

... and was JUST reading that article a few minutes ago.

I agree with Vik Muniz on the caipirinha glass: no way to serve caipirinhas in a wine glass, very un-Brazilian smileys/smile.gif
