Hi.

Anyone familiar with a salmon "loaf: appetizer....very easy...my Mom used to make it; Moyn, but can't seem to find it in the arcives, or in her recipe cartons....which is TOTALLY not organized.

Hi, nice to see you here, I miss your mom's posts and recipes. The recipe may be

at the old Gail's, but I haven't located it. Perhaps if you can give some of the ingredients to help narrow the search, I or someone who's better at searching by name than I am, can find it.

Hi Cutie! Sorry, do not know the recipe, but your mom did have wonderful recipes! Glad you joined

us! Your Mom would love that you are making her family favorites! Do you recall anything else about the recipe? Salmon loaf is not ringing any bells. It could be on the old Gails site. I will try and search for it.

Regards,

Barb

Hi Cutie, and welcome! Do you happen to remember any of the ingredients

and was it a cold or hot appetizer? I searched through the old Gail's archive but didn't come up with anything.

I miss your Mom very much.

Hi Dana. It's great to see you here. I too very much miss your mom's

posts, notes and recipes. She was a gem, such a great sense of humor. She sent me some jewelry that you and she made (tiger eye bracelet and earrings) and I think of her each time I wear them. Your jewelry is just lovely, you're a great designer.

Looked to see if I had the salmon loaf in my immediate files but I'm coming up empty. Will keep looking and post if I find it.

If we can help with any other recipes of hers let us know. She had quite a few.)

((((Dana)))), and welcome to Finer Kitchens.

I think I may have come across something in the old Epi archives.....

Moyn had a reference to a salmon mousse she liked. Here's what she said, I'm having trouble accessing the linked recipe though. Could it possibly be the salmon mousse you are seeking? If not, I'll keep digging.

I've used fresh dill... Find the taste better & the color a lot more appetizing than the dried stuff. I add some into the mousse mixture, also! http://food4.epicurious.com/HyperNews/get/archive_swap10701-10800/10765/2.html

This SALMON MOUSSE, is quick, easy & absolutely disappears when served to anyone 3/22
SALMON MOUSSE

1 15 oz can Red Alaska Sockeye Salmon
1 pkg 3 oz cream cheese with chives
1 pkg 3 oz plain cream cheese
(If you have difficulty, as have I in the
past few months, finding cream cheese with
chives, just add a couple of tbsp of
fresh chopped chives or a couple of tsp
of dried ones to 6 oz cream cheese)
Juice of one lemon
1 small onion chopped
Salt & Pepper to taste
(I always add some Cavender's Greek
seasoning, also)

Mix together all of the above til consistency
is smooth.

Line a bowl with waxed paper, OR shape into
whatever form you like on the serving plate.
Refrigerate several hours, or overnite..
Unmold (if you lined the bowl), and frost
with 1/2 pint of Sour Cream.. Sprinkle
liberally with dried dill weed. Serve
with crackers of your choice.

I hope you love this as much as we do!!
Enjoy!

You guys are so good, that must be the recipe. I just knew someone would find it if it was there to

be found.

This must be it, Moyn mentioned she frosted this w/sour cream sometimes

for serving in another post on the Swap.

KC - how were you able to access the "Click On My Name" link from that original post? Please share your secret!

Joanie, why I chose Cutie

Well, truth be told...I called my Mom "Tootie,"...she called me "Cutie," which was short for "Cutie-Patootie." Thus, the nickname...

I copied the link into my files when it was originallly posted.

Sorry I don't have a secret way to access those links now.
