Of course, not being able to leave well-enough alone, I added one more egg to the cake mix. It sure is a delicious, delicate spice cake!! I amended the maple frosting a bit and it was so yummy I could eat it with a spoon:
Maple Frosting
6 oz. cream cheese, room temp
1/2 cup butter, room temp
2 to 2-1/2 cups powdered sugar
3 tbl. maple syrup
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
